The short version
Logan Shimmer is a systems engineer who builds AI-assisted operational workflows for small businesses. Shimmer Labs is the consultancy he runs out of Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The work that became Shimmer Labs was the work Logan was already doing — making complex systems behave, designing the operational glue between tools, shipping reliable infrastructure — before AI became the hammer.
The career arc
Two decades of systems engineering and operations work, in production, before AI was the category it is now:
- National Instruments — test & measurement systems.
- Iterable — marketing infrastructure at scale.
- WeaveGrid — clean energy / utility grid platforms.
- Sense — clean energy / home energy monitoring.

Teaching and credentials
OSU class of '09 alum. AI for Industry microcredential through OSU CEAT Professional Development — an applied course on using AI inside technical organizations.
Currently teaching AI & Marketing in the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce's Small Business University program. Local owners learn what AI can actually do for their shop — without the hype, without getting stuck with one company's product, and without the security mistakes that keep showing up in the headlines.
Work that came before the brand
The Supabase and Taddy projects that anchor our case studies happened before Shimmer Labs existed. Same pattern. Same human checking everything before it goes out. Same real, working code in front of real customers. The work didn't change when the brand showed up — that's the proof it was solid all along.
Why Stillwater
Logan returned to Stillwater after 17 years in California to build a rooted business at home. Office Hours runs every Tuesday and Thursday, 2-4 PM, at WorkIT Stillwater. Walk-in, free, in person.
What we do and don't do
We build for owner-operators of service businesses and indie SaaS founders. We don't pretend to be a big-company software vendor, we don't build chat bots, and we don't replace teams. We've been building real software for two decades. AI is a new tool we picked up, not our whole skill set.
